Free Corkage On Saturdays!

I bet you think you’ve gone mad and that you are seeing things that do not exist – don’t worry, you’re not! Yes, you read it correctly, free corkage on Saturdays. So who is offering this outstanding arrangement to let you enjoy a Saturday lunch with your own wines at no expense? It’s the guys at Mario Batali’s Carnevino, located in LHT Tower in Central, Hong Kong.

Carnevino is a steak house whose origins lie in Las Vegas but has been brought here to Hong Kong by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich and is managed here by one of the larger restaurant groups, Dining Concepts. Its high end, classy nature has made it a favourite for both lunch and dinner amongst the diners in Hong Kong looking for a quality meal – and they specialize in quality meats (and I hear the pizzas are good too!)

So what’s the deal? Well, it’s simple really. Book a table in Carnevino on any Saturday until further notice and you can bring your own wines and drink them with no corkage charge between 12pm and 3pm. With the excellent food on offer at Carnevino this is not an opportunity to turn down as free corkage in Central is akin to gold dust – that is, it just does not happen!

So, head out to your cellars or call some of the importers we recommend in our stories and grab a few bottles of wine for a long lunch over what is some of the best meats in the city. Sit back and chill out on a Saturday lunch knowing that not only are you not paying the earth for a bottle of wine, you are not paying the corkage fees either – how much better can Saturday lunchtime get?
