HOFEX 2013 Opens In Hong Kong

The largest bi-annual trade show in the Asia Pacific Region, the 15^th International Exhibition of Food and Drink, Hotel and Restaurant Foodservice Equipment, Supplies and Services (HOFEX) held their grand opening ceremony yesterday morning at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre yesterday to kick off the 4 day mega-show.

HOFEX was delighted to have Professor CK Chan, Secretary for Financial Services as the Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony, accompanied by Dr. Peter Lam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Mr. Victor Chan, Chairman of the Hong Kong Hotels Association and organizer Mr. Daniel Cheung, General Manager of Hong Kong Exhibition Services Ltd.

Mr. Daniel Cheung said; “Stepping into its 15^th edition, I would like to thank all the industry practitioners who have shown long standing trust and support to HOFEX and have helped us build a renowned representative trading platform”.

“Today, we are pleased to announce that HOFEX 2013 has expanded to Hall 5, occupying 13 halls on 3 different levels of the HKCEC, with a total exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, accounting for a 23% increase in comparison to the last edition in 2011”.

Unfortunately, due a scheduling change, the original guest of honour, Mr. John Tsang, Hong Kong Financial Secretary was unable to attend.

In addition to all the new products and latest technologies on show, HOFEX 2013 will also hold different activities and competitions to enable professionals to network and exchange ideas. New elites of the industry can also find valuable experience and information through the range of exhibitions and competitions through the four day event.

HOFEX 2013 is open from May 7^th to May 10^th inclusive in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and is expected to see more than 35,000 global professional buyers through the doors over the four day event.
